Demon exterminator pt.3

“Good morning!” called Kelli happily after they finished.

“Don’t you mean good afternoon, it’s already past three.” Kady chuckled.

“Yeah what’s for lunch?” Kitsune inquired, adding her own two cents to the conversation.

While Kelli and Kitsune began preparing food (Kady and Okami couldn’t be trusted around the kitchen) Okami brought up some intriguing information.

“There was a police report of another murder that just occurred last night.” she stated.
Kitsune looked at her in a funny way “since when do we pay attention to human murders?”

“That’s just it, this guy was a confirmed demon, and he was one we tagged last week.” Kady continued for her partner.

“So then shouldn’t his corpse have turned back to his original form since illusions drop when a demon dies?” Kelli asked.

“It should have, but the fact is it didn’t, meaning one of two things, one is that we were just flat out wrong, or two, a fox demon put an illusion on the dead dude’s body.”  Okami answered.

“We know that the first choice is impossible since we had Ryu and Robyn check that case out and sometimes they even go overboard on information gathering, plus it’s always right on the money, forgive my cliché.”  the lightning wolf continued.

“So what makes you think that a fox demon did it and not just some random demon?” Kady was the one to ask this time, and got her answer from their resident fox demon herself.

“It’s simple, fox demons have the strongest of illusions, since it is their specialty, heck even I’m pretty good at them, anyway the kind of illusion that makes oneself appear human is a very powerful and complicated one plus it needs the one who cast it to be close by.”

“The illusion will disappear, when A) said caster dies, or B) when the one who cast the spell is out of range.  However since like I mentioned before, fox demons are immensely skilled in illusionary arts, they can be any distance from the person or place the illusion was cast on.”

“Because of the fact that no one was found anywhere near the body at anytime, we can only conclude that a high level fox demon is prowling around human world somewhere.”  Okami concluded.

“Oh yippy skippy.” Kelli said dryly.



After lunch Kitsune and Kelli decided to head to the police station to see if they could get a look at the afore mentioned demon body.  The two of them were quite good friends with the young police chief.  Upon just entering the bustling city of New York, Kelli’s cell phone rang.

“Hello?”

“WE NEED OUR FRAPPACHINOS!!!!” came the thunderous voices of Okami and Kady as Kelli held the phone away from her and Kitsune covered her over sensitive ears.
